The Oklahoma City Thunder extended their winning streak to 13 games, recording a 124-112 victory over the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday (PH time) at Chase Center.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 38 points for the Thunder, who improved their overall record to a league-best 21-1 slate.
The Thunder’s unbeaten run looked in danger of ending after the Warriors launched a furious fightback in the second half. Warriors outscored OKC 44-28 in the third quarter to cut the deficit to three points before grabbing a 107-106 advantage with less than five minutes remaining in the final period.
OKC answered right back, finishing the game on an 18-5 run to claim its 11th road win of the season. The Thunder avoided the meltdown thanks to Gilgeous-Alexander, who scored seven of OKC’s final 18 points.
It was a valiant effort from the Warriors, who missed the services of star player Steph Curry. The two-time MVP suffered a quad injury in last week’s game against the Rockets and has been out of action ever since.
Brandin Podziemski and Pat Spencer each scored 17 points for the Warriors, who fell to an even 11-11 record.
