Collin Gillespie’s game-winner salvaged the Phoenix Suns in their 2025 NBA Cup group-stage showdown against the Minnesota Timberwolves, securing a 114–113 victory on Saturday (PH time) at the Mortgage Matchup Center in Phoenix.
Gillespie, who finished with 20 points and 7 rebounds, capped the Suns’ 9-0 run by sinking a go-ahead floater with 6.4 seconds remaining.
Julius Randle had a chance to respond for the Wolves but misfired on a potential game-winning three, allowing Phoenix to escape with the win.
Dillon Brooks led the Suns with 22 points, as Phoenix leaned on a balanced attack despite star Devin Booker struggling throughout the night. Booker shot just 4-for-18 but still tallied 16 points and 10 assists before fouling out in the final moments.
Both Phoenix and Minnesota now sit at 10–6 in the Western Conference standings.
Anthony Edwards carried the Wolves with a game-high 41 points, but his missed free throws with about 13 seconds left proved costly for Minnesota.
