The defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder flexed their might with a commanding 126-102 victory over the Golden State Warriors in their Western Conference clash on Wednesday morning (PH time) at Paycom Center.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander starred for the Thunder, erupting for 28 points and 11 assists, while Chet Holmgren delivered an all-around performance with his own double-double of 23 markers and 11 boards.
Oklahoma City seized full control in the third quarter, blowing the game wide open as its lead ballooned to as many as 36 points.
The Warriors never recovered, despite the return of Stephen Curry, who suited up after missing three games due to illness. Playing limited minutes, the two-time Most Valuable Player finished with only 11 points. He also struggled from beyond the arc, making just one of his five three-point attempts.
With the win, the Thunder improved to 11-1 to remain on top of the Western Conference standings. The defending champs will look to extend their winning streak to four games when they host the surging Los Angeles Lakers tomorrow.
