The Denver Nuggets overpowered an undermanned Golden State Warriors squad, 129-104, in their 2025 NBA Cup Group Stage clash on Saturday morning (Manila time) at the Bell Center.
Nikola Jokic showcased his steady brilliance with 26 points, nine rebounds, and nine assists. He likely would have secured his sixth triple-double of the season if not for being subbed out for the entire fourth quarter. Jamal Murray added 23 markers and eight dimes to provide crucial support.
Denver came out firing and never let up, punishing the Stephen Curry-less Warriors. The Nuggets built a commanding 22-point lead by the end of the third quarter and dominated the game from there.
Even with Jokic and Murray resting early, Denver kept the pressure on in the fourth as Peyton Watson and Jonas Valanciunas led the second unit to extend the lead to 113-85, the biggest of the night.
For Golden State, Draymond Green carried the offensive load in Curry’s absence, finishing with 17 points and six rebounds.
After securing their first win in West Group C, the Nuggets (6-2) aim for a four-game streak against the Indiana Pacers tomorrow. Meanwhile, the Warriors (5-5) look to rebound—also against the Pacers—on Monday.
