The San Antonio Spurs snapped their two-game skid with a crucial 121-110 win over state rival Houston Rockets on Saturday morning in their 2025 NBA Cup West Group C clash.

Veteran forward Harrison Barnes led the charge with 24 points and five rebounds, while French phenom Victor Wembanyama finally broke out of his slump, posting 22 points, eight boards, and four assists.

Both Texas powerhouse squads traded blows throughout the game — the Spurs led by as many as 12 while the Rockets once held an 11-point cushion. The real battle unfolded in the final five minutes, with both squads exchanging baskets in a tense back-and-forth duel.

With the game tight, Wembanyama hit a clutch 14-foot turnaround jumper over Amen Thompson to put San Antonio up. 115-107, with 2:17 left. The Rockets had time to rally, but the Spurs’ defense held firm to seal the victory.

Alperen Sengun nearly notched a triple-double for Houston with 25 points, nine rebounds, and eight assists, while Kevin Durant added 24.

The Spurs (5-2) continue their homestand against the New Orleans Pelicans, while the Rockets (5-2) aim to bounce back versus the Milwaukee Bucks on Monday after seeing their five-game winning streak snapped

warriors assemble!
hot commentI heard Durant is the greatest small forward in Warriors history? I, Harrison Barnes, am the first to disagree!

Basketball Note
Durant is getting old, his ball-handling is too poor, and he makes too many mistakes when passing the ball. The Rockets will probably end up like this this season. Disappointing

If the Rockets don't address the point guard issue, problems are likely to arise at critical moments.
