The New York Knicks notched back-to-back home victories after cruising past the Washington Wizards, 119-102, on Tuesday morning (Manila time) at Madison Square Garden.
New York got off to a slow start, trailing by eight points after the opening quarter. However, the momentum shifted before halftime when Karl-Anthony Towns capped off a clutch four-point play — converting a buzzer-beating and-one three-pointer that gave the Knicks the lead heading into the break.
Riding that surge, the Knicks erupted for 41 points in the third quarter, outscoring the Wizards and building a commanding 20-point advantage. From there, New York maintained control, taking full advantage of a Washington lineup missing key players Khris Middleton and CJ McCollum.
Towns delivered a masterful performance, finishing with 33 points, 13 rebounds, and five assists to lead the Knicks. This game also marked a milestone for KAT as the youngest player in NBA history to record 15K+ points, 7K+ rebounds, and 1K+ three-pointers.
Jalen Brunson and OG Anunoby provided steady support, chipping in 16 points apiece.
Jordan Clarkson seems to be finding his groove in the garden, scoring 15 points off the bench.
Alex Sarr paced the Wizards with 19 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists.
The Knicks (4-3) will be playing the third of their seven-game homestand on Thursday (Manila Time) against the Minnesota Timberwolves while the Wizards (1-6) will be on the road to face the Boston Celtics.
