The defending champions are showing no signs of slowing down.
The Oklahoma City Thunder cruised past the New Orleans Pelicans, 137-106, to extend their winning streak to seven games early Monday morning (Manila time) in the young 2025–26 NBA season.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander once again led the charge, dropping a game-high 30 points alongside seven assists and two rebounds, powering OKC to its best start in franchise history. With the victory, the Thunder became just the third team in NBA history to open back-to-back seasons with a 7-0 record.
Oklahoma City seized control early, jumping to a 17-point lead in the first quarter and never looking back. Their relentless offense and disciplined defense left the Pelicans struggling to find answers all night.
Zion Williamson paced New Orleans with 20 points, nine rebounds, and six assists, but his efforts weren’t enough to snap the team’s winless skid, as the Pelicans dropped to 0-6.
The Thunder will look to keep their perfect record intact when they host the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday, while the Pelicans aim to finally break into the win column against the Charlotte Hornets on the same day.
