The Philadelphia 76ers remained perfect in the 2025–26 NBA season, improving to 4–0 after a thrilling 139–134 overtime victory against the Washington Wizards on the road.

Fueled once again by Tyrese Maxey’s heroics and the return of Joel Embiid, the Sixers stormed back from a 16-point deficit in the fourth quarter to steal the win. Philadelphia mounted a furious rally late in regulation, highlighted by a 10–0 run in the final three minutes to tie the game at 126 and force overtime.

The Wizards opened the extra period with a quick 5–0 spurt, but the Sixers’ defense tightened up, holding Washington scoreless for nearly four minutes. Philadelphia regained the lead with 30 seconds remaining and held on down the stretch, sealing the game from the free-throw line.

Maxey delivered another stellar performance, posting 39 points and 10 assists for his latest double-double. Embiid added 25 points, seven rebounds, and five assists in his return to action.

For the Wizards, sophomore standout Alex Sarr led the way with 31 points, 11 rebounds, and five assists, but it wasn’t enough to prevent Washington’s late collapse.
