The NBA has announced that Victor Wembanyama of the San Antonio Spurs and Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks have been named the Players of the Week for the opening week of the 2025–2026 season.
 
Wembanyama powered the Spurs to an undefeated start, posting impressive numbers of 33.3 points, 13.3 rebounds, and 6.0 blocks per game across three contests.
 
Meanwhile, Antetokounmpo continued to impose his will in the East, averaging 36.0 points, 16.0 rebounds, and 7.0 assists per game to lead Milwaukee to a 2–1 record.
 
Other nominees for the Eastern Conference honors included LaMelo Ball, Jalen Brunson, VJ Edgecombe, Tyrese Maxey, Donovan Mitchell, and Norman Powell. In the Western Conference, nominees were Stephen Curry, Luka Dončić, Austin Reaves, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
