The Los Angeles Lakers finally got their revenge on the Minnesota Timberwolves, pulling off an impressive 128-110 home victory on Saturday (Manila time) at the Crypto.com Arena.

Luka Doncic dazzled once again, erupting for 49 points along with 11 rebounds and eight assists. Unlike their sluggish season opener, however, Doncic didn't have to do all the heavy lifting.

Austin Reaves notched a double-double with 25 points, 11 assists, and seven rebounds, while Rui Hachimura contributed 23 markers. Deandre Ayton added 15, providing valuable production in the paint.

Marcus Smart also made his presence felt on the defensive end, disrupting passing lanes and making it difficult for Minnesota's offense to find any rhythm.

Coach JJ Reddick acknowledged that the third quartr had been his team's weakness, and it appeared his players took that to heart. The Lakers built real separation in the period behind strong surges from Doncic and Reaves.

The Lakers entered the final frame with a 14-point cushion and showed no signs of slowing down. They extended the lead to 117-98 after an in-rhythm three-pointer from Doncic, forcing the visitors to call a timeout.

On the flipside, Anthony Edwards led Minnesota with 31 markers and five dimes before being subbed out with just over three minutes remaining.

The Wolves struggled from the field, shooting just 46.6% and fared even worse from beyond the arc, converting only 18 of 38 attempts.

Now 1-1, the Lakers will look to build on their momentum as they head on the road to face the Sacramento Kings on Monday. Meanwhile, the Timberwolves will aim to bounce back when they host the Indiana Pacers on the same day.
