The Golden State Warriors escaped with a thrilling overtime victory over the Denver Nuggets, 137-131, Friday morning (Manila time) at the Chase Center in San Francisco.
Stephen Curry delivered another masterclass, erupting for 42 points along with seven assists and six rebounds. The two-time Most Valuable Player sent the game into overtime with a clutch three-pointer from the top of the key, tying the contest at 120-120 in the final seconds of regulation.

Golden State seized control in the extra frame, thanks to key plays from veterans and young guns alike. Up by three with under a minute to go, Jimmy Butler buried a dagger three-pointer to extend the lead to 133-127.
On the following possession, Curry secured a rebound after a Denver miss and went coast-to-coast for an easy layup, putting the Warriors up, 135-127, and effectively sealing the win.
It was a balanced attack for the Warriors, who saw seven players score in double figures. Butler added 21 points, six assists, and five rebounds, while Jonathan Kuminga chipped in with 14.
Draymond Green and Al Horford each finished with 13, while Brandin Podziemski and Buddy Hield contributed 11 apiece.
Despite the loss, Aaron Gordon put on a show for Denver, notching a career-high 50 points in a performance. Nikola Jokic also had a tremendous performance with a triple-double of 21 markers, 13 boards, and 10 dimes.
Golden State (2-0) will have little time to rest as it visits the Portland Trail Blazers tomorrow. Meanwhile, the Nuggets (0-1) will aim to bounce back when they face the Phoenix Suns on Sunday.
