No less than former National Basketball Association star Luol Deng witnessed Bol Bol's 50-point performance in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) 50 Commissioner's Cup.
Deng, a former Chicago Bulls guard, also sits as the president of the South Sudan Basketball Federation.
Bol has South Sudan descent and the presence of Deng could be part of the federation's move to recruit the former NBA player to their national squad.
TNT coach Chot Reyes said Bol may be inspired by the presence of Deng at the sidelines of the Ynares Center-Montalban.
“I think Bol was inspired. I thought he played a hell of a game. First half, he already had 29. I think that's largely because he knew that the president of his federation was there watching,” said Reyes.
Reyes said he has yet to know the exact reason why Deng was in the building.
“I haven’t met him (during the game). He is with Jolas so I don't know what they were talking about,” said Reyes.
