Former MPL PH champion coach Brian “Panda” Lim is set to return to the sidelines after signing with Indonesian squad Bigetron by Vitality for the upcoming MPL ID Season 17, the team announced last Saturday.
Panda, a respected figure in the MPL PH scene, will assume the role of technical director, overseeing Bigetron’s preparations and guiding the team’s strategic direction for the upcoming season.
He is set to reunite with former ward Eman “EMANN” Sangco, whom he won a championship with in the MPL PH Season 9 with RSG PH.
The Korean tactician handled RSG PH from Season 8 through Season 14. After the organization exited the MPL PH following Season 14 and was replaced in Season 15, Panda had remained without a coaching post — until now.
He brings a wealth of experience to Bigetron, built on championship runs with ArkAngel and RSG PH, and highlighted by leading SIBOL to the Philippines’ first-ever ML:BB gold medal at the Southeast Asian Games.
Panda will be joining a Bigetron squad brimming with potential, which finished second in the elimination round of MPL ID Season 16 before ending fourth overall after falling to EVOS in the lower bracket semifinals.
