Galeries Tower capped its recruitment spree, signing the legendary opposite spiker Aiza Maizo-Pontillas.

Maizo-Pontillas, who was part of the champion team Petro Gazz that took a leave of absence, has found a new home with the young squad Galeries ahead of the 2026 Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference starting on January 31.

It will be the former University of Santo Tomas star’s third PVL team since playing for Sta. Lucia in 2021 and for Petro Gazz since 2022, winning three championships.

The 37-year-old Maizo-Pontillas brings her experience, including national team stints and title runs with Petron in the Philippine Superliga, to Galeries, which had a major revamp and tapped veteran coaches Aying Esteban and John Abella.

Aside from Maizo-Pontillas, the HighRisers also brought back former player Shola Alvarez and signed former Rookie of the Conference winner Shar Ancheta.

Galeries tapped two more opposite hitters in Lycha Ebon from Nxled and Cams Victoria from Akari. Dolly Verzosa and Erika Deloria also joined the squad to build around holdovers Julia Coronel and No. 2 overall pick Jean Asis.
